Contest Details: Remix Comps has teamed up with the great people at Zenhiser for a sample remix contest. Not only will you get the chance to play around with some of their top quality audio samples, but you will also stand the chance of increasing your own sound sample library for your own music productions by winning your choice of drum loops, drum hits, synth sounds, hits, stabs, fx and more from their exciting yet affordable sample libraries. It doesn't matter what genre of music you love making whether it be House, Trance, Minimal, Old Skool, Hip Hop or Breaks because Zenhiser caters to them all and more.
To take part in this contest simply download the samplepack below which contains drum loops in various genres, bass loops, pads, fx and crashes from Zenhiser's sample libraries. Then using your music abilities cut them up, play with the samples and make them into a 1 to 5 minute track using as much or as little of the provided samples as you want. You can add your own samples as long as you own them but the winner will be chosen based upon creative usage of the Zenhiser samples from the pack provided.

Ya im psyked! getting to work on this straight away.
voting 1 to all entries is funny and it seems like somebody loves fair play :P
a jury will choose the best entry, so this downvoting is a little bit pointless...
anyway, good luck, dudes!
Yes voting is just there for fun, but soon you'll be able to see who has voted on what (it is already being recorded and I can already see). Very soon once it is set up everyone will know who they are :)
yeah pretty pointless... ahh but you know in every contest there will always be some douchebags , anyways good luck to you vincenzo and good luck to everyone !
Contest is closed now, Me and the nice people from Zenhiser are listening to entries and we will hopefully get the winner decided sometime this week. We are pretty impressed with the entries. Well done all :)
"...We thought that Layne Eugene used the provided Zenhiser samples creatively to make a well produced track...####
it must be a joke! o.O ...it wasn't so creative...i have heard some nice tracks. men its looks like a fake contest
i am glad for Layne Eugene anyway!
Without disrespect to all involved with the contest, the winning remix was a tad weak. There was obvious use of the samples, but the creativity lacked quit a bit compared to the other entries.
JDick "give me five" man!!!! :D i see that MaTrIx didn't got you!...keep going and follow the white rabbit!
I can assure you that this wasn't a "fake contest".
So basically I worked hard to get a sponsor and hold the contest on the site and because you didn't win you called "fake".
Why would I do that, I've worked hard to build this site up and then I'll just throw away all the built up trust and site name by being dishonest, why the hell would I do that. This whole site is run solely by one person, me. I'm trying to attract bigger bands and bigger sponsors to the site and more and more remixers to create a community of remixers, I ain't going to do that by ripping people off am I?
I know there's a lot of people who would be dishonest in this world, but this contest was as honest as you can get. It is not my problem that you have trust issues but I can understand that as you can't even trust the governments these days.
I don't know layneeugene, I don't even know if layneeugene is female or male. I sent Zenhiser my thoughts about the remixes including my top ones and they sent me back their thoughts. On some remixes it was hard to even hear whether they used one of the samples from the sample pack, others only used it for the drum beat only, the rest on top wasn't made with the sample pack. Some entries probably did'nt include any of the samples. The contest was based around the samples from the sample pack only.
At least you'll be pleased to know that all the other contests on the site at the moment won't have me as a judge and will be judged by the band or PR company behind them.
Why don't you rejudge the contest and tell me who you believe the winner should have been.
we respect your efforts man! =)
just wanna to say that peoples who used those samples and transformed it (by using Compressions and EQs) into something really creative got band cause Zenhiser cant recognize its samples.... huh... with comments like they dose they kick in nuts all people hard work!
don't take it as a personal! life is nice! keep smile! =)
They didn't get banned from the contest, the contest was based upon use of the samples and in some entries it was harder than others to hear the samples.
There was probably about another 15 entries not included on the entries list because they were basically remixes of completely different tracks, some people were even uploading Michael Jackson tracks. I believe a winner was chosen that did what was asked on this contest page. It was a difficult contest to judge.
I don't take things too personally, If I did I would've just removed your comments and pretended you doesn't exist. I was just pointing out that it doesn't make sense as to why I would create a "fake contest".
This was one of the first contests run on the site and obviously due to these comments it makes me realize that all the future contests need to have independent judges who aren't associated with Remix Comps. So I thank you for speaking up about your feelings and hopefully we can improve the contests in the future.
As I said above, I would love to know who you would've picked as a winner.
Oh and I know that people put a lot of hard work in to their entries as I have entered contests myself in the past and understand the effort put in to create an entry.
"...it makes me realize that all the future contests need to have independent judges who aren't associated with Remix Comps..."
for me is fine :D! but this one was bad one! ok..as a first one let it be so!
peace man!
and to delete me you also need to delete Robert McFadden - Swimming To The Moon contest.
I am not going to delete you. I said I don't take things personally and others would've deleted your comments.
I'm glad you spoke out and your comments have been accepted and taken note of, so that I can improve the contests in future.
Edward, please allow me to apologize. It was not my intent to start, or subsequently add to, any type of accusation, or question. There is no need for "high Five's" angryboy. This was not a mutiny, nor was it anything other than me stating my opinion. I do not think the contest was, as you said, "fake." I also was unaware that the contest was "samples" only.
Edward, I respect what you do here, and want you to know the level of appreciation I have for what you do.
i don't think this was a fake contest with fake voting. the only confusing thing is that people used external samples/synths. sometimes i couldn't decide if the track i'm listenin' to is good or bad because of the external samples :) so i guees it was hard to choose a winner.
if there will be any samplepack contest in the future, you shouldn't allow to use external stuff, it would make the competition "clearer" and more fair. but this is my opinion only :)
edward, thank you for organizing this competition, i enjoyed to work on my tune, i want more samplepack fun! ;P
cheers,
.v
JDick i will use you wards to describe you "tad weak"!...
vincenzo ... no one talks about use of external samples. to make tune sound in another music style it was necessary to slice all loops, compress, and EQ.. as a result you will never recognize original samples. to win was enough arrange loops without all that crazy job... that makes me angry.
K, so we all work harder next time? Mr LG good work! Given me a reason to put in more effort. Of course you realise the next 1's mine :)
